Docker for Mac is a native Mac application architected from scratch, with a native user interface and auto-update capability, deeply integrated with OS X native virtualization If you are using Docker Machine, then you can ssh to the machine using docker-machine ssh command and find the logs at /var/log/docker. You'll probably need to look at the internals of the moby project for this. Docker doesn't run on MacOS, it runs inside an ephemeral linux VM that runs on MacOS. So logging the container to syslog sends those logs to the VM, not the MacOS syslog daemon. – BMitch Nov 6 '17 at 14:25. To use the syslog driver as the default logging driver, set the log-driver and log-opt keys to appropriate values in the daemon.json file, which is located in /etc/docker/ on Linux hosts or C: ProgramData docker config daemon.json on Windows Server.
